报告内容:This  talk  will  focus  on  advanced  power   semiconductor  materials,  devices   and circuits  that  are needed in order  to address this daunting challenge. Specifically,  we will discuss  emerging silicon and wide bandgap semiconductor materials and power devices, heterogeneous   chip-scale  power   integration,  advanced  thermal   management  and cooling, compact high-power converters, DC power  distribution, and system  integration and  strategic insertion of advanced power  technologies into  smart grid with distributed renewable energy generators (DREGs) and wireless sensor control.

报告人简介:Krishna  Shenai  is   a   Professor  of   Electrical  Engineering   and Computer  Science   at  the   University  of  Toledo,   Toledo,   Ohio.  He earned his degrees from  IIT-Madras, India  (B. Tech. in Electronics in1979), University of Maryland - College Park, MD (MSEE in 1981), and Stanford  University  (PhD   in  EE  in  1986).   Dr.  Shenai   has   made seminal contributions to reliability-driven development of silicon  and wide bandgap semiconductor power devices and converters. He is best known  for  his  pioneering contributions to  silicon  power  MOSFETs, synchronous  power   rectifiers,  chip-scale  DC-DC  power   converters,GaAs  and  SiC power  diodes,   high-density  soft-switching power  technologies,  power semiconductor reliability, and RF power amplifiers. His current research interests are in the development and  system  integration of advanced power  technologies for smart grid and  electric  vehicle  applications, low-power sensors and  wireless  sensor networks, and biomedical instrumentation. In these  fields, he has authored or co-authored more  than350 peer-reviewed papers, 10 book chapters, 12 issued  US and 42 issued  foreign patents, and has edited  or co-edited four books. For his contributions, he was elected  a Fellow of IEEE, a Fellow of AAAS, a Fellow of IETE (India), a member of the Serbian Academy of Engineering, and  a member of New York Academy  of Sciences.  He is the  recipient  of numerous teaching and  professional awards including the  University Scholar  award from  the  University of Illinois,  USTAR Endowed Professor award  from  the  State  of Utah.
